upcoming gig by turquoiseloopers Comment (0)

this saturday 7th November 2009 at 10:30am, turquoise loop is recording a live instrumental cd of mellow eastern sitar vibes with lounge beats at the bodhi tree bookshop café (cnr oxford & scarb beach rd, mt hawthorn).

this is one of the coolest café’s and run by some of the nicest people in this little corner of the universe. it attracts many musicians and holistic thinkers from around perth who enjoy contributing to the blissful ambience. satyam has been playing sitar there on tuesday mornings and throughout summer turquoise loop will be making appearances on the odd sunday.

turquoise loop will be launching this recorded cd on saturday 5th december 2009 at 11:00am where we will be playing live.

hope to see you there…

Sitar soundscapes with images of freedom activism.

"Freedom is attained through struggle. No one offers it on a platter, because freedom is not a gift; it is ones birthright...freedom is a state of mind."

Untitled Document

in a time of great uncertainty and rapid change...

a soft, turquoise light, struggles to bring light.

amidst the haste...

a turquoise fire seeks to bring warmth in the cold madness.

from the precipice...

a turquoise tune hints of an alternative path.

in the midst of a "war against terror"...

turquoise folk dance a new dance in anticipation of a new dawn.........

special guest Noam Chomsky by turquoiseloopers Comment (0)

you may or may not have noticed but we don't use capital letters lightly here at turquoiseloop.com

Noam Chomsky has earned that privilege

indeed he is often described as the greatest intellectual alive.  to say so is probably not too controversial but it gives only a fraction of the picture

he is often referred to as the world's leading dissident -  a "rebel without a pause".  truly he defines what it is to be a neo-humanist, a holistic thinker of the highest order

for us he is in the truest sense - an inspiration.....
